These Terms & Conditions apply to all purchases made through our online shop at www.karendejong.com. By placing an order through our website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. Please read them carefully before placing an order.

Products

We offer original paintings, limited edition prints, framed and unframed prints, and commissioned or personalised artworks.

Each artwork is created with care and may contain characteristics that are inherent to the materials and handmade nature of the work. Slight variations in colour, texture or appearance may occur between the artwork shown on screen and the physical product.

Colours may also appear differently depending on your monitor or device. The main characteristics, dimensions, materials, edition information and other relevant details of each product are provided on the individual product page.

Original artworks and prints

Original artworks are unique pieces and are sold individually. Limited edition prints are produced in a specified edition size. Where applicable, the edition number will be stated on the product page and/or on the print itself. Unless explicitly stated otherwise, the purchase of an artwork does not transfer copyright or other intellectual property rights to the buyer. All artwork, images, designs and other creative content remain the intellectual property of Karen de Jong/KRN. They may not be reproduced, copied, distributed or commercially exploited without prior written permission.

Custom and personalised artwork

We may offer artworks that are created specifically according to a customer's requirements or are clearly personalised for an individual customer.Because these works are made specifically for you, they cannot be returned under the statutory right of withdrawal where the applicable legal exception for personalised or made-to-order goods applies. Before purchasing a custom artwork, we recommend that you carefully review and confirm the specifications, dimensions, colours and other details agreed for the work.

Prices

All prices displayed on our website are stated in [EUR] and include applicable VAT, unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Shipping costs are calculated separately during checkout and are shown before you complete your purchase.

We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. Price changes will not affect orders that have already been placed and confirmed.

Ordering

By placing an order, you are making an offer to purchase the selected product(s). After placing your order, you will receive an order confirmation by email. The purchase agreement is concluded once your order has been accepted and confirmed by us. I reserve the right to refuse or cancel an order where there is a legitimate reason to do so, for example if a product is unexpectedly unavailable or if there is an obvious pricing error.

Payments are processed through our payment service providers, including Stripe and services integrated with Wix.

Your payment details are processed securely by the relevant payment provider and are not stored by us unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Delivery

We ship orders worldwide from the Netherlands. Orders are normally dispatched within a reasonable period and delivered within approximately 10 business days, unless a different delivery period is stated on the product page or agreed separately. Orders are shipped using appropriate carriers and include tracking where available. Please see the Shipping & Delivery Policy for more information. For international orders, the recipient may be responsible for customs duties, import taxes or other charges imposed by the destination country.

Right of withdrawal

For standard products purchased online, consumers generally have a statutory right of withdrawal of 14 days, without having to provide a reason. The withdrawal period starts on the day after the product has been received by you, or by a person designated by you. The right of withdrawal does not apply to products that fall under a statutory exception, including qualifying products made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalised. Returns

If you exercise your statutory right of withdrawal, you are responsible for the cost of returning the product to us.

The product should be returned within 14 days after notifying us of your decision to withdraw.

Please handle the artwork and its packaging with reasonable care. You may be liable for any diminished value resulting from handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the product.

Refunds

Once a valid withdrawal has been received and the returned product has been received by us, or you have provided evidence that the product has been returned, we will process your refund in accordance with applicable law. The refund will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original purchase.

Damage or defective products

We take great care when preparing and packaging our artwork. If your order arrives damaged or if the product has a defect, please contact us as soon as possible at [EMAIL], preferably including photographs of the artwork, packaging and shipping label. We will assess the situation and work with you to find an appropriate solution, which may include repair, replacement or a refund where applicable. Nothing in these Terms & Conditions limits your statutory consumer rights or legal guarantee.

Legal guarantee

Products purchased from us are covered by the statutory legal guarantee applicable under Dutch consumer law. This means that the product must conform to the agreement and have the qualities that you could reasonably expect based on the information provided before purchase.

Intellectual property

All artwork, photography, illustrations, website content, logos, designs, text and other creative materials on this website are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Purchasing an artwork does not give the buyer permission to reproduce or commercially use the artwork.

Applicable law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. If you are a consumer, this does not affect any mandatory consumer protection rights that apply in your country of residence.

Changes to these Terms & Conditions

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version applicable to your purchase is the version published on our website at the time your order is placed.
